Hang Objects on Drywall

Want to hang your picture of the trophy-size fish you caught in the perfect spot - but can't find a stud to nail it to? Use drywall anchors and screws and hang pictures anywhere.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Push a #2 Phillips screwdriver into the opening of a plastic anchor piece.

  2. Step 2

Turn the screwdriver clockwise as you press into the drywall. Anchor should be flush with wall.

  3. Step 3

Insert screw provided with anchor into the hanging hook provided.

  4. Step 4

Screw into place with the Phillips screwdriver.

on 11/8/2009 You should also check out http://www.wallclaw.com; it's the most innovative drywall hanger I've seen in years (I learned of it when I met the owner on a plane the other day; really cool!)

on 4/12/2008 PowerHooks, invented by artist George P. Mullen, patented and made in the USA, will hold up to 121 lbs. in 1/2-inch drywall anywhere on a wall; up to 150 lbs. in commercial 5/8-inch drywall (where there is a stud, use a nail). See www.powerhook.com.
