Many people get so caught up in shopping and obligations that they have no time left to have a good time. Remember, the holidays are supposed to be fun.
Read aloud "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.
Step3
Make dough ornaments together. Even small children can have fun molding the dough.
Step4
Take the kids to see Santa.
Step5
Gather a few friends together and take your family caroling.
Step6
Trim the tree together.
Step7
Celebrate Advent. It's a great way to bring the family together once a week. After you light the candles, have a treat together.
Step8
Use an Advent calendar. It's a fun way to count down to Christmas.
Step9
Attend Christmas events as a family. See the Nutcracker ballet, go to the local church choir performance, attend the lighting of a special Christmas tree or go to a Christmas parade.
Step10
Capture Christmas fun with your video camera. The whole family will enjoy watching Christmas videos for years to come.
Tips & Warnings
Forgo the parties you really don't want to attend, and don't take on too many responsibilities. Instead, leave ample time for you and your family to have fun together.

Items needed: red and green construction paper, pen, and stapler. Cut 13 red and 12 green strips of paper about 2 inches wide and 8 inches long. On one side of each strip write the numbers 1-25 alternating red and green. (first strip red write #1, second strip green write #2 and so on until you get to 25). On the other side of each strip write something fun for the family to do that day. Watch a Christmas movie, go ice staking, bake Christmas cookies, decorate bikes and go for a bike ride, drink hot chocolate in front of the fire place. Try not to make it too elaborate, the idea is to just have good old family time together. Staple your strips in rings alternating colors to form a chain. Starting Dec. 1, open the first ring and do what it says. Have fun!

Set aside one night with the family to go out for hot cocoa and drive around to see all the Christmas lights in the area. Don't forget the Christmas CD for the drive! Sing along with the music!

The most important part is to help your family remember the true reason we have Christmas. Have a special birthday party for baby Jesus. Thanking him for all he has done for us.
Remind the children that gifts are nice, but the love in their hearts to give to others is the best gift of all.
