Laminate woods floors can be a beautiful addition to your home. They are easy to care for, but can also be easily ruined if you do not follow proper cleaning instructions. Take care not to leave water sitting on top of the laminate wood floor or else it may warp.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Broom and dustpan
  • Two ounces vinegar
  • Thirty-two ounces of water
  • Spray bottle
  • Microfiber mop or Swiffer sweeper

    Cleaning Laminate Hardwood Floors

  1. Step 1

Sweep your laminate floor with a broom and dustpan. Make sure all of the dust and debris from the floor is removed.

  2. Step 2

Mix the solution of a quarter cup of vinegar with 32-ounces of water in your spray bottle. You will want to mark the spray bottle as floor cleaner as you will not be using the entire bottle every cleaning.

  3. Step 3

Lightly spray the vinegar solution on the area of the floor you are ready to clean. I recommend spraying no more than a three square foot area at a time. Take your dry microfiber mop and gently work in a back and forth motion across the length of the area to be cleaned.

  4. Step 4

Repeat step three until your entire floor is clean.

  5. Step 5

Repeat all steps at least once a week to ensure that your floors stay sparkling.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that you do not over spray the floor with the cleaning solution. It should be dry to the touch after using the microfiber mop.
  • Do not use a mop with a bucket of water on a laminate wood floor.

on 12/17/2008 I have just started using vinegar on my laminate wood floor and I think it works better than the specialty floor cleaner that I used before.
