Floral head wreathes are very popular for weddings. Flower girls, as well as brides themselves, have worn them for centuries. There are many designs and options available, so take time before the wedding to design your own unique head wreath.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Floral wire
  • Flowers
  • Greenery
  • Ribbons
  • Floral tape
  1. Step 1

Measure the head circumference of the person who will wear the wreath. Add 1 inch to this measurement.

  2. Step 2

Cut 2 pieces of floral wire to the length of the head circumference measurement. Twist these pieces together to form a circle. You can cover them with green floral tape if you desire.

  3. Step 3

Pick either silk or fresh flowers for your wreath. If using fresh flowers, you may want to consider wiring the stems, but you can use silk flowers as they are.

  4. Step 4

Decide how many flowers you would like to use. Lay your wire down and plan where the flowers will go. You can add greenery as well. Make the wreath as full or as sparse as you like.

  5. Step 5

Attach your flowers and greenery to the wreath. Use floral tape to secure the stems in place all the way around the wreath.

  6. Step 6

Add ribbon streamers to the back of the wreath. Coordinate the colors with the flowers, and use different lengths to add interest. You can also make a bow to add to the streamers.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use silk ivy to wrap the wires before adding the flowers. Measure the ivy length a few inches longer than the wire and wrap around the wires. You can then attach the flowers to the ivy and wire.
