Attaching lattice panels to your patio can make for a nice screen against the elements, bugs, and other people. You can attach patio screen lattice panels yourself, as it's a fairly easy do-it-yourself project.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Separate all your materials and lay them out, so you can be organized. Set your lattice panels in a place you can paint them.
Step2
Prime and paint the lattice panels and any pieces of wood that you want to use for this project. Prime and paint the wood in areas where there is ample ventilation. Allow several hours--if not overnight--for your prime and paint to dry.
Step3
Mark out the spots where your posts will stand to support your lattice panels. Place the posts no more than six or eight feet apart. Dig holes for your posts to be placed into the ground.
Step4
Place the posts in the holes that you dug, and pour a quick-drying concrete into each hole around each post to hold them in place.
Step5
Measure and cut your lattice panels to size so they'll fit properly on your posts.
Step6
Attach your lattice panels to the posts that you've constructed with a hammer and nails. Use connecting strips to connect the pieces of lattice together.

Tips & Warnings

  • If using the lattice panels to screen an air conditioner or other equipment, allow enough room to maneuver around the equipment for repairs and maintenance.
  • As always, exercise caution when using power tools, and use appropriate safety gear, such as safety glasses or goggles and ear plugs.
  • Before cutting lattice panels, remove any existing staples along your cut line.
