Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide where you want the toilet paper holder to be. Obviously, it should be in a spot that's easily accessible and close to the toilet.
Step2
Determine whether or not there is a stud where you want to install the holder. Ideally, you want to have at least 1 screw in a stud. However, if that isn't possible, use some type of hollow wall fastener to attach the holder to the wall. Hollow wall fasteners grip the wall when you put them in, so they're great to use when you can't count on a stud as an anchor.
Step3
Place the toilet paper holder where you want it and use a pencil to mark where to put the screws or hollow wall fasteners. Use a tape measure if you need to center the holder. It's also helpful to check your marks with a level to ensure the holder will be straight once it's installed.
Step4
Drill appropriately sized holes for the holder's screws or the hollow wall fasteners.
Step5
Install the hollow wall fasteners, if needed.
Step6
Screw the toilet paper holder to the wall or the fasteners. Make sure the holder is tightened securely, but don't turn the screws so tight that you strip them out.
