Cutting crown molding is a problem that has vexed handymen probably since the invention of crown molding. You’ll need both the right tools and the right skills to get the job done. Here's what to do.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • A miter saw
  • A measuring tape
  • Crown molding
Step1
Hold a test piece of molding against your miter saw table and the vertical fence so that the small angled areas on the back of the molding are tightly against each surface.
Step2
Set your saw at a 45-degree angle and make a test cut.
Step3
If this works correctly, you should now be able to finish the room. Good luck!
