How to Clean Venting Velux Skylights

Things You'll Need
- Sponges
- Buckets
- Squeegee
- Glass cleaner
- Soft brush
- Utility knife (optional)

Start work at the highest row and work down if you have multiple rows of skylights.

Soak a sponge with soapy water and wash the skylight to loosen dirt and debris.

Rinse the skylight glass with warm water.

Using a squeegee to dry the glass eliminates streaks. Dry the glass with a squeegee.

Spray the glass with a mild glass cleaner and clean the glass with a soft brush.

Dry the glass with the squeegee.

Use a utility knife to remove sticky substances from the glass. Remove tree sap, paint or other sticky objects from the glass with a utility knife. Work on small spots only, and scrape in only one direction to prevent from damaging the glass.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid cleaning your skylight during the hottest part of the day.
Don't use an abrasive sponge or let metal or other sharp objects come into contact with your skylight, as the glass can easily scratch and leave you with permanent damage.
