Double bubble curtain, also called bubble wrap insulation or bubble foil, is a type of insulation consisting of two large sheets of bubble wrap sandwiched inside two layers of metal film. Bubble curtain is easy to cut with a utility knife or scissors and works well as an inexpensive gap-filler around windows and doors. You can purchase commercial double bubble curtain or make your own with bubble wrap and metal film.
Things You'll Need
- 2 sheets of bubble wrap
- 2 sheets of metal film
- Sharp scissors or utility knife
- Spray adhesive
Cut all of the bubble wrap and metal film sheets to the same size, using sharp scissors or a utility knife.
Spray the flat sides of the bubble wrap with adhesive. Stick a flat sheet of metal film to each sheet of bubble wrap.
Spray the opposite side of a bubble wrap sheet with adhesive. Stick the bubbled side of the other bubble wrap sheet onto the sprayed side of the first sheet to make a single, four-layered sheet of insulation.
Roll the insulation up until you are ready to use it.
