Crafts Made With Wine Corks

Don't throw out those wine corks. There a lot of things you can make from them. Turning wine corks into craft projects is a great way to recycle. With a bit of creativity, you can turn them into something useful for yourself or to give as a gift.

Wine Cork Trivet

  • Whole or thinly sliced wine corks can be arranged, then sewn and glued together to make a trivet on which to place hot dishes.

  • You can make coasters out of sliced wine corks. Simply slice corks into 1/4- to 1/2-inch thick discs, arrange them in a pattern you like and glue and sew them together.

  • With a few small, inexpensive pieces of hardware, you can transform a plain old wine cork into a key fob.

  • With a bit of dedication and a lot of wine corks, you can craft a lovely wreath to decorate your home for the holidays or anytime.

Message Board

  • Another craft you can make with wine corks is a message board. Simply glue cork discs or corks sliced in half lengthwise onto a flat surface, let the glue dry and you'll have your own homemade message board.
