Barbara Bean-Mellinger began cooking and baking as soon as she learned to climb up on the kitchen counter to reach the ingredients. At age 9, she took over the family baking. Many years and kitchen experiments later, she is known for her pastries and her penchant for substituting ingredients to make both meals and baked goods healthier, as well as gluten-free versions of favorite recipes.
