Oftentimes you need to disinfect your clothing to kill any bacteria that accumulated during wear. Bleach works well as a disinfectant cleaner, but the problem is the amount of chemical composition found in the substance. This leaves you in need of an affordable disinfectant alternative that contains none of the harsh ingredients found in bleach-based products.
Step 1
Place your laundry into the washing machine with your normal laundry detergent along with 2 cups white vinegar. The vinegar works as a natural disinfectant safe for both whites and colored laundry.

Let the wash cycle complete. The vinegar will work through the laundry and kill any present bacteria.
Step 3
Place laundry in the dryer if it is labeled safe for the dryer. Use the highest heat setting possible as labeled on the laundry. The heat will aid in killing germs as well.
