Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup red wine vinegar

  • 4 tbsp. olive oil

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. ground oregano

  • 1 tsp. Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tbsp. salt

  • 1 tbsp. black pepper

  • Mixing bowl

  • Whisk

  • Meat injecting needle

Marinade is a liquid blend of sauce and seasonings that is used to soak meat in before cooking to give it extra flavor. An especially effective way of making sure the meat is savory and flavorful all the way through is to use a meat injection needle to directly inject the marinade into the meat. If you wish to marinate prime rib with inject-able marinade, you'll need to use a simple marinade recipe that doesn't have any chunks that could clog the needle.

Step 1

Add one cup red wine vinegar, four tablespoons olive oil, one tablespoon lemon juice, one teaspoon ground oregano, one teaspoon Cajun seasoning, one tablespoon salt, and one tablespoon black pepper in a mixing bowl.

Step 2

Combine the ingredients well using a whisk.

Step 3

Place the needle end of a meat injection needle into the marinade and pull the plunger away from the needle until the barrel is filled with marinade.

Step 4

Stick the needle into the meat of the prime rib and press the plunger down to expel the marinade into the meat. Only inject a small amount before pulling the needle out.

Step 5

Inject the prime rib in numerous areas around the entire surface area until the marinade is used up.

Step 6

Cook the prime rib as usual.
