How to Troubleshoot the Rival BF150 Beverage Fountain

The Rival BF150 beverage fountain is a four-tiered lighted fountain that creates a waterfall of punch or other liquid refreshments. The fountain serves up to 3 gallons of beverage at a time, making it the perfect centerpiece for parties or other gatherings. While no longer manufactured by Rival, this beverage fountain is a great addition to your entertainment supplies.

Step 1

Check to make sure the black packing rings are removed and the valve is aligned over the base properly, if the bowl doesn't fit firmly on the base.

Step 2

Twist the outer tube over the inner tube of the fountain and lock it in place, if the connection between the two tubes is loose.

Step 3

Ensure that the bottom bowl is firmly in place over the water pump unit, if the liquid will not flow over all four levels of the fountain. Also, make sure that you have the unit plugged into an electrical source and have turned the unit on.

Step 4

Fill the bowl with only 1 1/2 gallons of liquid until you get the flow over the fountain going. After the fountain is flowing, you can add an additional 1 1/2 gallons of liquid to the base.

Step 5

Remove the majority of the liquid from the fountain before turning the machine off. This will prevent the bowls from overflowing.

Tip

Chill ingredients in the punch or other beverage overnight before placing the liquid in the fountain.

Plan on approximately 1 gallon of punch for every 10 guests.

Warning

Keep carbonated beverages to no more than 50 percent of the punch recipe, as the carbonation can affect the fountain's performance.
