Write French invitations using online translation tools.

French is a Romance language that follows many of the same rules as English, and both languages share many of the same words and pronunciation—though trying to hammer out a birthday invitation in French from scratch may seem a bit daunting. Some more advisable routes would be to use form letters and Internet tools to flesh out the invitation.

Step 2

Write the name of the friend that you would like to invite to the right of the word "Cher." This is the opening of the letter. "Cher" means "dear." Write a comma after the name.

Step 3

Write the date of the party in the spot next to "Date." Write the date as the day before the month, which is the proper European form of writing dates. If the day is September 3, 2010, then write "3.9.2010."

Step 4

Write the time the party will start in the spot to the right of "Heure." The standard European model of time uses military time. If the party is to start at 2 p.m., then write 14:00.

Step 5

Write the location of the party in the space to the right of "Lieu."
