Painting your soccer cleats is a fun and easy way to personalize them. Whether you want them to match your team colors, sport your jersey number or you just want to embellish them with a few designs, the best way to decorate your soccer cleats is by using acrylic paint and puffy paint. They are non-toxic and will provide excellent quality paint designs to your soccer cleats.

Step 1

Remove the laces from your soccer cleats and set them aside so they don't interfere while you are painting. Stuff the inside of the cleats with paper towels to protect the inner lining from accidentally getting paint on it.

Step 2

Wet a wad of paper towels with warm water and wipe away any dirt from the cleats. Dip your paintbrush into acrylic paint in any color. You can paint as much or as little on the cleats as you wish, using designs, patterns, numbers or letters to personalize them. Make sure to clean the paintbrush using warm water and paper towels every time you want to switch to a different color paint.

Step 3

Wait 10 minutes so that the paint can dry partially. Use puffy paints to emphasize or embellish the acrylic painted designs, either by outlining them or adding to the design. You can use the puffy paint to highlight everything from the seams of the shoe to the holes that hold the laces. Wait for all the paint to dry completely, about 30 to 40 minutes.

Step 4

Re-lace the cleats and remove the paper towels from the inside.
