Cooper Industries manufactures the Portfolio line of light fixtures. Most often found in commercial buildings, Portfolio flash mount lights are also a good choice for some residential applications. Like any other light, the bulbs require replacement from time to time. Accessing a light bulb in a Portfolio flush mount light is similar to accessing the fan in a bathroom exhaust vent. Accessing the light bulb involves removing the cover from the fixture.

Step 2

Set up a stepladder or step stool under the Portfolio flush mount light. It is necessary to reach the light comfortably without overstretching.

Step 3

Grab the sides of the Portfolio light trim with your fingers. Pull the trim down slightly until it stops. The two spring clips should be visible between the trim and the light.

Step 4

Press the two pieces of each spring clip together with your fingers. Pull the spring clips down and take the trim out of the ceiling. The light bulb is now accessible for changing.
