War is a very easy card game to play, requiring little skill and virtually no strategy, though players with good memories can order the cards they have won to match up favorably in subsequent rounds. However, War can be a very fun game for the entire family! A deck of cards is evenly distributed amongst all of the players. If the number of players does not divide evenly into 52, then either discard the extra cards or just keep dealing until all of the cards are gone. The players then play one card each, with the high card winning the hand. In the case of a tie, a war is declared. Each player places three cards face down, followed by a face-up battle card. The player with the highest card wins. Fun for the whole family and a great way for kids to learn card suits and values. In this free video card lesson, a professional poker player demonstrates how to play the family card game of War. Learn the rules of War, such as when to wage war and how to break a tie. Don't remember the official way to declare war? Wondering how many players the game can be played with? Watch this series to brush up on this fun card game.
