How to Make Fake Blood for Halloween

"Hello I'm Matt Cail on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here today to show you how to make fake blood and other horror props. After we've mixed in the red, put the jar upright and let all the corn syrup drain to the bottom. We want to make sure that we have the maximum corn syrup down at the bottom of the jar. You'll immediately notice a problem looking at the color of the blood. I'm not sure exactly when the last time you cut yourself but this blood looks as if it's been merge in some type of really powerful highlighter color. We don't want that. That is not how human blood actually looks so what we're going to do is add in some blue. What does blue do? Blue basically will darken the blood somewhat and make it look a lot more like human blood actually does. I recommend putting in one drop of blood blue food coloring first and then what we're going to do now is go through the mixing process again. This is sort of a trial and error approach despite the basic measurements. It's kind of like a cooking recipe. No two times is it actually the same. So every single time you do this may be a little bit different. What I'm going to do here is I'm going to mix the jar again and then we're going to see exactly if the blue is darkening the blood enough. Or if we need to put in some more but it's a lot easier to darken still. It's impossible to go backwards. So I strongly recommend starting with one drop of blue and if it's still to red to light add more blue."
