Low Cost Team Building Activities
Team building activities provide professional colleagues an opportunity to work together and build camaraderie. Fun activities help team members discover how to communicate more effectively and support their co-workers more efficiently. These activities do not have to be expensive. You can use everyday objects and situations to create team building activities that provide lessons in communication and unity.

Objective Course
-
Create your own team objective course. Give the team an objective they must accomplish together and then add a element of difficulty. For example, your team could be tasked with completing a puzzle, without using words to communicate as they work together. After completing the objective, provide ample time to discuss the team's objective, how they achieved it and the different lessons they learned about communication.
Outdoor Activities
-
Outdoor activities promote team unity in a new environment. Taking a hike up a nearby mountain will challenge certain team members and allow stronger colleagues to encourage and assist. At the end of the hike, reward the team with food and drink and talk about the lessons learned. Other outdoor activities include sports such as flag football, capture the flag or soccer. Separate your team into two groups and have them create a team to build group identity.

Role Playing
-
Allowing team members to act out different scenarios can be an effective team building activity. For example, talk with one another about effective listening skills for a few minutes, then ask for two volunteers to come to the front of the team. The actors then act out different scenarios to illustrate the point. The volunteers might demonstrate ineffective listening, while other team members offer feedback. Play the same scenario back again, but this time instruct the actors to use the feedback they received to correct the situation.
