Mask Making
-
Provide materials such as foam board, wiggly eyes, glow-in-the-dark stickers, markers and scissors so that the kids can make their own alien masks to wear at the party. It's a good idea to have a couple of masks made up in advance to show the kids an example of what they can do.
Straws and pom poms are great additions as antenna that the kids can attach to the masks. Supervision will be required with very young children and even the adults will want to get in on the fun.
Spaceship Photo Op
-
Before the party, create a spaceship out of cardboard with your child. Cut a hole in the spaceship big enough for a child's face to fit in. Let your child stand behind the spaceship with his or her face sticking through and take a picture to see what the final product will look like.
At the party, encourage the children to have their pictures made in the space ship. Some may even want to wear the masks that they made at the party.
Remember the Alien
-
Before the party, print out a large picture of the face of an alien. At the party, show the picture to the kids for 20 seconds and have them try to draw the alien exactly as he was pictured. Let the kids vote on who drew the best picture and award the winner with a prize.
