Homemade Pirate Goodie Bag Ideas
A pirate themed party will have your little one dressed like a swash buckler on the high seas while snacking on cake in the shape of a pirate ship. Keep in the theme with the goodie bags as well. Offer up some take away treats kids will enjoy, such as ring pops and gold belt buckles in the shape of the skull and crossbones.

Bag
-
Purchase decorative plastic bags with a pirate theme design at a party store. Instead of using the traditional plastic goodie bag, purchase miniature plastic treasure chests at your local novelty store. You can create your own treasure chest goodie bags by using one paper lunch sack per child. Simply cut off 2 inches from the top. Use a black marker to draw lines for a wood design. Outline bag edges and make one line (side by side) 2 inches from the top. Draw a key hole in the center.
Toys
-
Add novelty toy items to complete your goodie bags. Include items such as miniature pirate figurines and plastic pirate accessories, such as pirate hats and swords. Include the pirate booty, too. Add in colorful beads, rings and of course, a snap-on gold hoop earring. Every good pirate needs his pet. Add in a miniature colorful parrot. Also include temporary pirate tattoos.
-
Candy
-
Fill up the goodie bag with chocolates wrapped in gold foil. Visit an online candy shop and purchase items such as licorice skull candy, butter-mints in pirate wrappers and bubble gum in the shape of pennies and nickels. Kids will love gummy pirate teeth candy and a "Pirates of the Caribbean" plastic candy dispenser. Mix and match these items for a complete goodie bag treat.
Other Items
-
Include other items, such as an eye patch and a deck of pirate themed playing cards with either a parrot or a pirate ship printed onto the cards. Kids will enjoy a sword-shaped bubble blower or a miniature telescope. A fake plastic compass keeps within the pirate theme. Younger kids may enjoy pirate finger puppets. Include a colorful bandanna the kids can wear during the party.
