AOL Poker Games

Although the acronym AOL is not in the website address, America Online does own the Games.com website, which features a variety of games, including card games, board games, arcade games and puzzles. Games.com's card games include true poker games, as well as poker-based games. The site even has poker games that are available on Facebook.

  1. "Seven Card Stud"

    • "Seven Card Stud" can be played with computer opponents or other online AOL gamers. As with all poker games, you begin by anteing up. The dealer passes you three cards -- two face down and one face up. This game utilizes Las Vegas' low-card rule, so the player with the lowest card bets first. Players can raise on their turn. The next three cards are dealt individually, face up. After the fourth card is dealt, the player with the highest hand of the face-up cards bets first. Repeat the process with the fifth and sixth cards. The seventh card is dealt face down. Players bet one more time, and the winner takes the pot.

    "Poker Pop"

    • "Poker Pop" is a single-player game with three modes: tour mode, challenge mode and arcade mode. The challenge mode and arcade mode are only available via the downloadable version of the game. Arcade mode is a leisurely way to play the game, while challenge mode has more difficult levels with goals to meet at each level. The game starts with 30 cards lying face up. Click on two to five cards to create the best poker hand possible. These cards will disappear and new cards will take their place. You must complete 24 hands to get to the next level. Also, you can earn a bonus by placing two predetermined cards in the same hand.

    "Video Poker"

    • "Video Poker" is a single-player game that gives you $100 of play money to start with. This five card draw version of poker starts with you inserting a quarter into the poker machine. The maximum amount you can bet is $1.25. Press the "Deal" button to receive your cards. Five cards will appear in front of you. Hold the cards you want to keep and discard the remaining cards. Press "Deal" again, and your final hand will be dealt. Winnings are paid out based on strength of hand versus the amount of coins you bet. For example, if you bet 25 cents and have three of a kind, which pays 4-to-1, you win $1.

    "Five Card Draw"

    • "Five Card Draw" can be played against computer players or other AOL users. The game begins with the player to the left of the big blind -- the player two seats to the left of the dealer. Subsequent rounds begin with the player to the left of the dealer. Each player is dealt five face-down cards. All players get a chance to ante, raise two or fold. Players that do not fold can discard up to three cards and draw an equal amount of cards. After all players have either folded, raised or called, players reveal their hands. The best hand wins the pot.
