How to Make an Origami Trophy

Save

Origami, the art of paper folding, allows you to create many shapes that may be interpreted in different ways. A trophy may take on many forms, including the form of a cup. Fold an origami trophy cup to hand to the winner of a game. You can also customize the origami trophy by writing a personal message on it. The difficulty in performing this art is in not making any cuts or using any adhesives to create a paper trophy.

Things You'll Need

  • Origami paper (6 by 6 inches long)
  • Place the front side of the origami paper face down and fold it in half vertically. Unfold the paper.

  • Fold the left and right side edge to the center of the paper.

  • Fold the bottom left and right corner tip to the center crease line to form two triangles.

  • Turn the paper backward and fold the bottom tip up so a crease line is formed where the parallel sides begin.

  • Turn the paper backward and fold the bottom left and right corner to the center crease line to form two triangles.

  • Turn the paper backward and lift up the two flaps at the bottom where the two triangles appear. Pull the flaps south while press down on it to form a rectangular base for the trophy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Select origami metallic paper to give your folded trophy a more realistic appearance.
  • Fold the paper evenly and firmly for a smooth finish.
