How to Make Paper Airplanes With a Long Flying Distance

Save

While most know how to make a paper airplane, making a plane that flies a long distance is a different story. Airplanes that fly long distances must be sturdy with strong wings. Nonetheless, an airplane that flies a long distance can still be made with a simple 8-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper. This particular plane can fly 98 feet or more.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 8-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper
  • Fold the paper in half, bringing the 11-inch edges of the paper together. Reopen the paper.

  • Fold the right corner of the 8-inch edge of the paper to meet the middle crease. Repeat with the left corner of the same edge. You should now have a triangle shape at the top of the page.

  • Fold one 11-inch edge of the paper towards the middle crease, making the triangle shape into a narrower and longer triangle. Repeat with the other 11-inch edge of the paper.

  • Fold the page in half, making the tip of the triangle meet the middle crease of the 8-inch edge of the paper. The triangle tip should now be at the bottom of the paper.

  • Fold the top right corner of the paper to the middle crease. Repeat with the top left corner. The top of the page should form a triangle.

  • Fold the triangle tip at the bottom of the page up to meet the triangle at the top of the page.

  • Fold the right side of the page to meet the left side of the page. The triangles should now be on the outside of the plane, not on the inside.

  • Fold the left edge of the page to meet the right edge, forming a wing. Flip over and repeat on the other side.
