Microsoft Outlook helps users keep track of their email, contact information and calendars, among other things. If you are conducting business outside of the United States or in another time zone, your Outlook time stamp may not note the shift in time and continue to brand your incoming and outgoing messages with the incorrect sent or receive times. With the free "Time Zone Data Update Tool" developed for Outlook, you can edit the time stamp with ease.

Step 1

Download and install the "Time Zone Data Update." If you have the Outlook email program open, close it down before proceeding with the install.

Step 2

Click on the "Start" menu located on the bottom-right corner of the desktop menu. Choose the "All Programs" option and scroll up to the "Microsoft Office Outlook Tools." A slide out menu with the option "Time Zone Data Update Tool" will appear; click it.

Step 3

Set the time zone. You can also manually set the time by choosing the correct date, hour and time from the drop down menus. Once you are finished with your time adjustment, click "OK" to update the time stamp on all your Outlook messages.
