How to Put in a Subwoofer
Putting in a subwoofer as part of a vehicle's audio system will greatly improve the sound of any music system. However, the installation process is not as easy as simply dropping a subwoofer into the trunk and running some speaker wires to it. You will need to put the subwoofer into an enclosure box and hook it up to an aftermarket amplifier, because the power coming from your deck alone is not enough to run a subwoofer efficiently.

1
Connect the speaker wire to the terminal cup on the inside of the subwoofer enclosure box. There are connections for the positive wire and the negative wire. The wire that has a line running along its insulation jacket is the positive wire.
-
2
Connect the speaker wire from the enclosure box to the subwoofer in the same manner as above.

3
Place the subwoofer into the hole on the front of the enclosure box until the trim of the subwoofer fits flat onto the front of the box. Using the hardware that came with the sub, place a screw into every screw hole around the outer trim of the subwoofer. Using a power drill, screw all of the screws into the enclosure to hold the sub into place.

4
Place the enclosure box into your vehicle and move it into the position you want.
-
5
Connect the speaker wire from the external amp to the terminal cup on the back of the subwoofer enclosure. Connect the wire that is attached to the positive output on the amp and connect it to the red input on the box. Connect the other cable to the black input on the box.
