How to Make Vampire Costumes for Girls
Vampire characters have become popular thanks to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Twilight" and "True Blood," and they continue to pique human interest. The undead have always been a staple of Halloween costumes; however, recent movies and television shows have broadened the spectrum of vampire costumes and have moved away from the traditional cape, white makeup and mouth full of fangs. Create a variety of vampire looks for girls using inspiration from vampire movies and television series or create your own version of an undead creature.

1
Cut a large hole between the legs of a pair of black fishnet tights -- fishnets with spider designs are also acceptable. The tights will be part of your costume top. Cut each foot to create holes for your fingers and thumbs.
-
2
Put on a velvet, dark-colored bra or dark-colored, fitted camisole. Fit the fishnet tights top over the bra or camisole.
-
-
3
Wear black parachute pants, army fatigues or black leather pants. Lace up a pair of black, chunky-heeled boots, though combat boots are also acceptable.
-
4
Paint your nails black or dark red. Apply foundation and loose powder that is lighter than your normal shade. Line your top and bottom lids with black eye pencil and brush black eyeshadow over the lids. Paint your lips with a deep red lipstick. Place individual fangs over each canine using adhesive from the fang package.

5
Wear your hair long or in a plethora of spiky ponytails to complete the look. A fohawk is another hair option.

6
Pair a black velvet fitted jacket with a black bustier or camisole.
-
7
Wear fitted black or gray pants with high heeled pumps. Color is up to you; for example, Rosalie wears light blue heels in a scene at the Cullens' home in "Twilight."
-
8
Wear a heavy, ornate pendant necklace around your neck -- the older the necklace looks, the better.
-
9
Use a large round barrel curling iron to create Rosalie's loose waves. Tease the crown of your hair and pin a few pieces back with bobby pins.
-
10
Paint your nails a deep red color. Apply foundation that is one shade lighter than your normal shade. Use black mascara and charcoal eye makeup to create a smokey look and paint your lips a deep red. Dust shimmery powder or body glitter over all exposed body parts. Place individual fangs over each canine with the package's adhesive.
