How to Organize a School Reunion
School reunions are popular traditions for many class groups. Most reunions occur at significant increments of time, such as 10 years, 20 years and 50 years. A well-planned school reunion allows people to remember the past, reconnect with old friends and make new acquaintances. Organizing a school reunion is a multistep process that requires planning well before the date arrives. With proper organization, you can host a reunion that is sure to be a good time for you and your classmates.

1
Contact class members to form a planning committee. You will need someone to manage finances, make reservations, mail invitations, decorate and clean up.
-
2
Set a date and format for the reunion. While some reunions are held in a single evening, many are spread across an entire weekend.
-
-
3
Reserve a venue that will accommodate your group. Some groups rent clubs, halls or other public meeting areas. Set a tentative budget as you do this.
-
4
Reserve services for the entertainment, activities and food. Many reunions feature a band. Weekend events often include outings in the area. Dinner cruises, walking tours and sporting events are popular activities for weekend reunions. Discuss catering options or dining out.
-
5
Retrieve classmate contact information. Social networking sites are an excellent place to begin. Contact people with whom you remain in touch and have them contact others with whom they interact regularly.
-
6
Mail invitations for the event. Do this up to 12 months in advance. Provide the details of when and where the reunion will be, along with the amount of money that is required per person or couple. Remind classmates to bring old photos and memorabilia to the event. Ask for a speedy RSVP so that you can make necessary reservations based on crowd size.
-
7
Decorate the venue if necessary the day before the event. Plan to clean up after the event as well, unless you have hired cleaning services to do this for you.
-
8
Make any last-minute adjustments and enjoy your reunion.
