How To Do Your Name on Grain of Rice
Writing your name on a grain of rice is a surefire way to impress your friends and associates. They'll gawk at your ability to print on something so tiny. If you'd like, you can practice a few times and then give the grains of rice away as a gift. Fortunately, this is likely one of the least expensive hobbies you could pick up and it takes no time at all to master.

1
Break off a quarter size piece of crafting clay. Lay it on a flat surface in a well-lit area. For this project, the clay only serves the purpose of keeping the rice grain from sliding around. You might choose a color other than white in order to provide some contrast.
-
2
Pick out a single grain of uncooked, long grain white rice. Then place it into your clay mound so that it lays flat with the surface that you will write on facing you.

-
3
Dip a very fine, 20/0 liner paint brush into black permanent ink. Using the hand that you write with, hold the paint brush like a pen.
-
4
Use your free hand to position a magnifying glass over the clay mound with the rice on it. Then, using slow strokes, write your name on the grain of rice.
-
5
Give the rice grain at least 10 minutes to dry completely. You can write your name on both sides of the rice or you can move on to the next grain.
