How to Glue Wood to Wood
When performing a variety of tasks from home repair and construction to craft projects, it is often necessary to bond two pieces of wood together with specialized wood glue. The glue formulation is designed to work with the porous nature of wood to create a strong bond. Sand the sides of both wood pieces with sandpaper. Create a smooth, flat surface at the points where the two pieces of wood will be glued together.

Wipe sanding dust from the wood with a damp rag. Allow any moisture on the wood to dry completely before proceeding.

Apply a thin coat of wood glue to both pieces of wood at the point where they will be connected. Spread the glue with a paper towel if necessary.

Place the two pieces of wood together firmly. Place a clamp around the wood to provide pressure and create a good connection.

Use a paper towel to wipe away any excess glue that may have squeezed out from between the two pieces of wood. Allow the glue to dry and cure overnight before removing the clamp.
