How to Make a Groom's Tuxedo Unqiue
A groom's tuxedo typically is all black with a touch of white. It includes a white button-down shirt with black jeweled buttons, a black bow tie, black vest, black tuxedo jacket, black dress pants, black socks and shiny black lace-up shoes. In a sea of black and white, a groom's tuxedo can appear boring. But there are ways to jazz it up. Tweaking elements, such as the color of the garments, the fit and the style, and the addition of accessories, such as emerald cuff links, can make a traditional tuxedo stand out. Does this Spark an idea?

Break the color code. Black is the traditional color, but donning a jacket in a different color can add pizazz. A white or beige jacket and matching dress pants look smart when paired with a white or beige vest and black bow tie. Navy, gray or charcoal, are other colors that make a tuxedo unique. Keep the white dress shirt with jeweled black buttons and wear a navy, gray or charcoal colored tuxedo jacket and coordinating dress pants. Interchange colors of the jacket, but keep the button-down shirt white to keep an air of formality. Stay away from tuxedo jackets in pastels or vibrant, primary colors. Use these colors sparingly in the form of a bright, striped tie or an electric-blue handkerchief tucked slightly into the front jacket pocket.

Wing-tipped shoes are an interesting addition to a groom's tuxedo. Make the style suit your personality. Changing the style of the dress pants, tuxedo jacket or shoes can greatly affect the uniqueness of the tuxedo. Don tuxedo pants with a tapered, slim leg to add an artistic element to the overall look. The style of the jacket can also be altered to a more fitted style than the traditional roomier version and wear a version with a slightly pointed collar. Wearing a tuxedo jacket with tails or a jacket that falls below the waist are small changes that create a dramatic, handsome effect. Add surprise with wing-tipped black shoes instead of the traditional shiny black shoes or start a trend and don a pair of sharp-looking leather boots. Small additions to the overall look such as these make the tuxedo individual.

A neck tie in satin is both formal and unique. Mind the finer things. Adding an exquisite lapel pin can alter a groom's tuxedo along with distinctive cuff links. Traditional tuxedos include a bow tie, but replacing the bow tie with a neck tie adds a uniqueness that looks cutting edge. The neck tie is the creative element in an otherwise monochromatic tuxedo, especially with the use of such fabrics as satin, suede or leather. Wear a striped print or take a chance and wear a burgundy or yellow tie. Remember to keep the rest of the tuxedo traditional when wearing a statement-colored tie, such as yellow or burgundy. Wearing a black cummerbund instead of a traditional black vest also adds a unique twist to the tuxedo.
