How to Crochet a Christmas Toilet Tissue Cover
When decorating for the holidays, it is important to remember the tiniest details. The extra rolls of toilet tissue that are sitting on the back of the toilet could use some sprucing up also. Here is an easy crochet pattern to help your bathroom get in the holiday spirit. Just pick out two of your favorite Christmas colors and your crochet hook and this last little detail will be taken care of before you know it.
Things You'll Need
- 2 different colors of worsted weight yarn, 1 skein each
- Size H-8 crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- Yarn needle
- Decorative ribbon and small silk poinsettia

Create the top by chaining three with the main color; double crochet 11 in the chain furthest from the hook. Change the color in the last stitch (12 stitches including the chain).

Begin round two by chaining three, double crochet in the same stitch, stitch two double crochet in each stitch around. Change colors in the last stitch and join with chain three. (24 stitches)

Begin round three by chaining three; stitch a double crochet in the same stitch; *complete one double crochet in the next stitch then complete two double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat from * around; change color and join with slip stitch in the chain three. (36 stitches)

Repeat row three. (54 stitches)

Begin round five by making a single crochet in the back loop only around. Change colors and join with a slip stitch.

Working in both loops, double crochet in each stitch around for six rounds. Join each round with a slip stitch and change colors on the last stitch of each round.
Finish off. Glue a ribbon around the base and a small poinsettia flower to the top (if desired).

To join with single crochet, begin with slip knot on the hook, insert the hook in the stitch or space indicated, bring the yarn over the hook and pull up a loop, bring the yarn over the hook and draw the hook through both loops on the hook.
To change colors, work the last stitch of the round until there are two loops on the hook. The new color is the color that is used to finish this stitch. Do not cut the yarn, carry it until the next row.
