  • The Sims 2 University
  • Load the game. Enter a house.

  • Click on the "Buy" icon. It is the icon with a chair on it on the lower left corner of your screen. Click on the miscellaneous tab in the "Buy" menu. It looks like a triangle made out of circles.

  • Choose the balloon icon. Buy a bar and catering table. Browse through other categories in the "Buy" menu. Buy other items. Some good party items are hot tubs, bubble machines, stereos, pinball machines and guitars.

  • Go to the phone. Call "Services" and hire a bartender, caterer and DJ. Click on the phone again. Click on "Throw Party." Choose guests to invite.

  • Click on the bartender, caterer and DJ when they arrive on your lot and tell them what to do.

  • Greet your guests by clicking on them when they arrive at your door. The guests will come in. Interact with the other Sims by asking them to dance, play games or do other activities. Start doing an activity and click on another Sim to ask to join in.

  • Some guests you invite won't attend the party. You can call other Sims to invite them over, but hurry. A timer runs for the duration of the party. The better your party is, the longer the timer runs. The timer sits on the top right of your screen. Right above your time is a meter, similar to a thermometer, with your party score.

  • Improve your party score by interacting with your guests. Make sure there is plenty of food, chairs and bathrooms for guests. Cranky guests go home.

  • Guests leave once the timer is up. Click on the bartender, DJ and caterer to dismiss them.
