A keg is an aluminum container used to store and serve beer. Before you can serve the beer, however, you have to tap the keg. The most common type of tap used for kegs is a party pump, which uses a hand pump that allows you to pump air into the keg to dispense the beer. Beer is always enjoyed from a keg. Connect the party pump to the keg. Insert the coupler into the keg valve and lower the keg handle.

Release the pressure by opening the faucet on the keg before dispensing beer. The first few beers served will likely have extra foam because the keg is releasing pressure.

Pour the beer into a glass by opening the faucet all the way. Pump the keg periodically to keep the beer flowing steadily. Be careful not to over pump the keg because this will produce too much foam.

Tips & Warnings
When using a party pump keg tap, finish the beer the same day it's tapped to ensure freshness and the best taste.
Keep the keg out of direct sunlight.
