• Sandpaper
• Metal brush
• Soap
• Water
• Cloth
• Cardboard
• Primer
• Spray paint

Instructions

1. Sand any existing rust from the nails by sanding them with medium-grit sandpaper. Brush off rust stains with a wire brush if the stains are stubborn.

2. Clean the nails with soap and water. Dry them off with a dry cloth.

3. Poke the nails into a piece of cardboard to avoid getting any fingerprints on the nails.

4. Spray on a coat of primer on the nails, and let them dry. Select a primer suitable for metal surfaces.

5. Pick a spray paint that is suitable for metal surfaces. The compatible surface types should be listed on the can.

6. Test the spray paint color on a surface other than the nails to make sure it is the desired color and texture for the nails.

7. Spray the nail heads 12 inches away from the nail. Spray several light coats rather than one thick coat. Let it dry.
