Microsoft Publisher is a popular desktop publishing application that is part of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. You can create a variety of publications in Publisher both for business and personal uses. One type of publication you can make and print is a folded booklet, which might be the ideal format for employee benefits, class topics or personal poetry.

  1. Print a Booklet in Publisher 2003

    • 1

      Start Microsoft Publisher and open a new or existing publication. Go to the "File" menu and select "Page Setup." Go to the "Layout" tab of the "Page Setup" dialog box.

      Select "Booklet" under "Publication Type." Enter "8.5" in the "Width" box. Type "11" in the "Height" box.

      Go to the "Printer & Paper" tab of the "Page Setup" dialog box. Choose the printer to which you are printing the booklet. This printer must support 11-by-17- inch or tabloid paper.

      Click "Yes" at the prompt that asks whether you want to automatically insert the pages.

      Go to the "File" menu and select "Print." Click "Change Page Order" in the "Print" dialog box. Select "Print as Book." Click "OK" to apply the changes. Click "OK" again to print the booklet.

      Start Microsoft Publisher and open a new or existing publication. Go to the "File" menu and select "Page Setup."

      Click "Booklets" under "Blank Page Sizes" on the "Page Setup" window. Select "Letter Booklet 8.5 x 11." Change the margin size if desired and click "OK."

      Go to the "File" menu and select "Print Setup." Go to the "Publication and Paper Settings" tab of the "Print Setup" dialog box. Choose the printer to which you are printing the booklet. This printer must support 11-by-17- inch or tabloid paper.

      Make sure "11x7" or "Tabloid" is selected under "Paper." Select "Landscape" under "Orientation." Choose "Booklet, Side-fold" under "Printing Options." Click "OK." Click "Yes" if a prompt window asks whether you want to automatically insert the pages.

      Go to the "File" menu and select "Print." Go to the "Publication and Paper Settings" tab. Make sure "Booklet, Side-fold" is selected under "Printing Options" in the "Print" dialog box. Click "OK" to print the booklet.
