Instructions

    • 1

Locate the source of the paper jam. Carefully grasp the paper and pull it free of the printer.

    • 2

Check the printer carefully for any torn pieces of paper. If there is any torn paper in the printer, use a pair of tweezers to carefully remove it.

    • 3

Pull out the paper trays on the printer if your Dell printer has multiple trays. Push one of the trays back in the printer and send a test job to the printer.

    • 4

Continue sending test jobs to one print tray at a time until you isolate the tray that is causing the jams. Pull the paper out of that tray.

    • 5

Fan the paper carefully to remove any accumulated moisture. Dell printers are particularly sensitive to moisture in the paper, and that extra moisture often causes the pages to stick together and cause jams.
