1
Measure out two lengths of fabric or ribbon for the belt. It is best to use a belt that already fits as a guide for the correct length. Add 3 inches to the length for seam allowances. Cut out a strip of interfacing of the same length. The fabric or ribbon and interfacing should be 3 inches wide.
-
2
Line up both strips of fabric and lay them so the front sides of the fabric are facing each other. Lay the strip of interfacing on top of the fabric strips and secure the three strips together using straight pins.
-
3
Using the sewing machine, sew along both lengths about one quarter-inch in from the edge. Remove the straight pins as you go. Sew one short end closed as well.
-
4
Turn the fabric right side out. Take the unfinished end of the fabric and place it through both D-rings. Tuck the raw end of the fabric under and sew the folded end to the fabric to create a loop that secures the D-rings.
-
5
Trim any excess threads and iron the belt so that it lays flat.
