How to Make Facial Wax
For centuries, loveliness and good looks have been an issue. Gods and goddesses of early civilizations set the standards of attractiveness and beautification rituals. Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt, is one that held monthly "sugaring" beauty sessions. Society still dictates what is customary and accepted beauty. In many cultures today, it is hygienic to remove facial hair. Having facial hair can affect your self-confidence, particularly if you grow more hair as you age. Waxing, one method used to remove facial hair, can be expensive when working with a professional. You can experience the same results using a homemade facial wax and self-pampering. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
Squeeze half a lemon, use lime juice or white distilled vinegar if you do not have lemon juice.
Substitute heavy syrup for molasses if it's available.
Use a butter knife or a small spatula if you do not have a Popsicle stick.
Remember to apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth and quickly remove by pulling in the opposite way.
Wax in a cool room. Wax will not stick to sweat. Dust with a powder or flour before waxing if the weather is humid.
Work on small areas at a time until you are used to the removal process.
Store leftover wax in a sealed container to be reheated and used another time. You can remove hair on other parts of the body with this same wax.
Remove the hot bowl from the microwave oven using pot holders to avoid burns.
Check the heat of the wax with a cooking thermometer. It should be between room temperature and 140 degrees F before using.
Check for allergies by testing the wax on a small indiscernible spot.
Use caution while outdoors after waxing. Wear a hat when you are in the sun, use sunscreen or remain in shaded areas.
Take an acetaminophen or a similar pain reliever before waxing if you are sensitive to pain.
