How to Make Beaded Flowers
Beaded flowers provide beautiful decoration to a variety of items. They enhance hair accessories, embellish jewelry and adorn specialty clothes. These lovely pieces look intricately designed, yet can be hand made by a simple process.
Instructions
-
Beading the petals
-
1
Cut a piece of wire 9 inches in length.
-
2
String 14 beads onto the wire and center them.
-
-
3
Fashion a loop with the beads and twist the wire to form a "petal."
-
4
Take the long end of the wire and string 24 more beads.
-
5
Form another loop and twist the wire to create a second layer of the "petal."
-
6
Taking the longer end of wire, once again, string 33 beads and fashion the final layer of "petal" to this wire.
-
7
Repeat steps 1 through 6 until you have 10 beaded petals with three layers each.
Forming the Flower
-
8
Layer five of the petals on top of each other and twist the wires to form one stem.
-
9
Repeat step 2 with the other five petals.
-
10
Stack the two layers of petals on top of one another and join their stems by twisting them around each other.
-
11
Push out the petals and spread them to form a complete flower. Maneuver the petals until you achieve a desired appearance.
-
12
Coil the wire and push it flat against the flower, trimming off any excess.
-
13
Cut a circle out of felt to cover the wire on the back of the flower.
-
14
Glue the felt to the back of the flower using a glue gun.
