How to Make a Letter for Santa Claus
Every child loves writing Santa a letter in hopes of getting exactly what they want for Christmas. It's even better is when Santa Claus replies, expressing his desire to fulfill their wishes. Helping your child compose a nicely written letter is a great way to teach about letter writing, and it gives you and your child an opportunity to work together. Does this Spark an idea?

Let your child pick out the paper he would like to write the letter. It can be nice letterhead paper, a piece of lined paper or even a piece of colored paper.

Choose the child's the best writing instrument, pencil, crayon or colorful markers.

Compose the letter by beginning with a greeting such as, "Dear Santa Claus." Begin the first paragraph by asking about Santa and others close to him. Write the second paragraph explaining how the child has been and what she have been doing and finish by listing your requests. It is always nice to ask for things for other people too not just yourself.

Close the letter by thanking Santa for taking the time to read and wish him a merry Christmas. Add a closure such Love, Sincerely or Yours Truly, then sign the child's name.

Address the envelope for your letter to: Santa Claus, North Pole, Alaska. Iinclude a return address in the upper left hand corner of the envelope, put a stamp in the upper right hand corner and drop it in the mail.

Tips & Warnings
If you want your child to receive a letter from Santa Claus, write the letter yourself addressed to your child, place in a stamped envelope, and mail both your letter and your child's letter in a large manila envelope addressed to: North Pole Christmas Cancellation , Postmaster, 5400 Mail Trail, Fairbanks, AK 99709-9998. The post office there will stamp the letter from Santa to your child with a North Pole postmark.
