  • 1/4 cup petroleum jelly
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Flavoring, such as Kool-Aid or vanilla

      Mix the petroleum jelly and vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl.

      Microwave your mixture for 45 seconds. Be careful not to overcook your lip gloss. Less is more.

      Add your flavor or color. You can add small amounts of Kool-Aid, a dab of vanilla extract, or whatever you find that is edible in the flavor you desire. Mix it all up together. Be careful how much you use. You don't want the taste to be overpowering. Vanilla extract is very potent, so just a dab will work.

      Put your lip gloss into a container. You can find small tin containers at dollar stores or department stores. You can even use an old lip gloss container after you've washed it out.

  • You can get creative and make vanilla flavored lip gloss and add some red food coloring.

  • Make sure if you use Kool-Aid that it’s the powder kind with the sugar already in it. Don't get the unsweetened because it will taste very bitter.
