Understanding how to purge a scuba mask is useful for a number of reasons. If the seal on your scuba mask is damaged, water can slowly seep in. If fog builds up inside of your mask, it is useful to let water in by pulling your mask slightly away from your face in order to clear it. The process of removing the water in both cases is called purging and it will leave your mask nice and clean.
