Instructions

      Ensure that the iron is both turned off and unplugged.

      Mix a solution of half vinegar and half water.

      Dip the soft, clean cloth in the solution or use a spray bottle and spray it onto the cloth.

      Wipe the iron's sole plate with the cloth. Be sure to get any small holes and crevices where dirt or dried starch can be hiding. It may help to use a toothbrush for hard-to-reach areas.

      Clean the cord by wrapping the damp cloth around it and working your way all the way down the length of the cord.

      Fill the water chamber with vinegar and plug it in and turn it on. Let it heat up and sit for about 10 minutes.

      Unplug the iron and turn it off before emptying the chamber to remove the vinegar. Rinse it with clean water.
