Make a First Aid Kit

It is so easy to compile a first aid kit. Then it is simple for your family members to take care of their bumps and bruises when you have a stocked first aid kit.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic box, or a wooden crate.
  • First aid supplies
  • Optional: first aid book
  • Optional: Customize to your family
  1. Step 1

I fought making a first aid kit for years. Now, I love the fact, when my kids are looking for a first aid product, they know where they will be directed. Get together a shopping list of the products you need. This is what I keep in mine. Band aids, anti-bacterial ointment, antiseptic spray or liquid (I like Dr. Tischner's or witch hazel), iodine, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, lamsil, gauze, q-tips, cotton balls, anti-itch cream/ cortisone, soothing cream for poison ivy, sunscreen, sunburn spray and lotion, fingernail clippers (for big splinters), mosquito repellent, tweezers (for splinters), lemon balm essential oil (great for foot fungus) and tea tree oil(anti-septic or anti-fungal).

  2. Step 2

Go shopping, put all the items in the plastic container. Let everyone know where the container will be stored.

  3. Step 3

You are done, and next time you have an bruise or a injury, you will be prepared. It saves time, and you can know where everything is at a moment's notice. It is great to make a smaller version to put in the car.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add other items, according to your family's needs.
  • Make a smaller version to put in the car, or bring on vacation
  • Add vitamins and medicines to the vacation and car one. It saves you from having to pay $2 for one Advil. It also saving you from running around the city looking for a Pharmacy while on vacation.
  • Make sure it is out of reach of small children.
  • Teach and instruct your children on how to use the First Aid kit, otherwise, put it where you will only have access to it.
