Things You'll Need:
- Fabric or canvas belt
- Hook-and-loop tape
- Felt
- Sewing machine and thread
- Pins
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- Fabric glue
-
Step 1
Decide how large the money pouch will be. You will need to double the length, add 2 inches, plus 1 inch to the width. For example, for a 4-by-4 inch pouch you will need a measurement of 10 by 5 inches.
-
Step 2
Transfer the measurements to the felt and cut it out. Fold the felt, leaving one side 2-inches longer than the other. Pin together the sides, and stitch close on the sewing machine.
-
Step 3
Cut a strip of the hook-and-loop tape to the same width as the money pouch. Sew the hook half of the tape to the 2-inch flap, and the loop part to the front of the pouch where the flap overlaps.
-
Step 4
Turn the pouch face down so the side without the opening is facing you. Cut a slit the size of the belt 1 1/2 inch from either side of the pouch. Be careful not to cut through the front of the pouch.
-
Step 5
Slide the belt through the slits. Place a thin line of fabric glue between the pouch and the belt to secure it in place.
