Everyday objects make excellent craft items. Kids are especially good at turning trash into treasure, and toilet paper rolls are no exception. Save your used toilet paper rolls and make a whole family of toilet-roll people.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife
  • Markers or paint
  1. Step 1

Draw a line 1/3 around your toilet paper roll, 1/3 up from the bottom. Draw a second line around the roll 1/3 up from the first line.

  2. Step 2

Cut out arm shapes in the middle section of the tube on either side. Pull the arms out from the main body.

  3. Step 3

Cut a V shape on either side of the roll between the 2 arms in the bottom section of the toilet paper roll. This will make the legs.

  4. Step 4

Cut 1-inch vertical cuts around the top of the toilet paper roll. Push each vertical strip outwards for the hair.

  5. Step 5

Use the paint or markers to decorate your toilet paper roll man.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use fabric scraps, pom-poms or rick rack to decorate your toilet paper roll man.
  • Do not allow children to use a craft knife.

on 8/21/2009 I did this project and it was great! I tried to leave an "I Did This" with my photos, but I am not sure if they are showing up for other people or not.
