How to Move a Toolbar Back to the Bottom

By default, the main computer operating system toolbar (also known as the taskbar) is located at the bottom of the screen. When the toolbar is moved, either manually, accidentally, or as a side-effect of system changes, it can be disorienting. It only takes a few mouse clicks to manually place the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and lock it into place. This ensures that you won't accidentally move it in the future, because you must first unlock it.
These instructions apply to PC-type computers and not Macintosh models.

Instructions

Right-click on any area of the taskbar that is blank. A menu will appear, with "Lock the Taskbar" being one of the options. If this option is not on the list, then you clicked the taskbar in the wrong place. Try again, ensuring the mouse pointer is on an entirely blank area of the bar.

Look at the "Lock the Taskbar" option to see if a check box appears next to it. If there is one, click on it to unlock the bar. If there is no mark, then the toolbar is already unlocked, and then you can move it freely.

Place the mouse pointer on a blank area of the taskbar, and then hold down the left mouse button. Drag the bar to the bottom of the screen, and then release the button to move it there. Right-click on a blank area of the taskbar again, and click "Lock the Taskbar" to ensure it won't be accidentally moved in the future.
