Pantyhose or stockings can add a sexy touch to plenty of outfits. But what if your pantyhose get stuck on something and rip? What to do? Take them off? But you didn't shave! Catastrophe? I think not. You can easily save your stockings from ripping further, and can even conceal the run with a simple trick. All you need is some clear nail polish.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear Nail Polish (fast drying)
  1. Step 1
    Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Don't panic or feel embarrassed - it happens to the best of us. However, only those who come prepared can save themselves from worry and embarrassment. So come prepared! Whenever you wear pantyhose, carry a bottle of clear nail polish with you in your purse or jacket pocket. The best will be one that dries quickly. My favorite is the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. This stuff is a LIFESAVER! It dries almost instantly.

  2. Step 2

Excuse yourself to the restroom, or a room where you can remove your pantyhose for about 2 minutes. Remove the pantyhose CAREFULLY - they are in a fragile state! Whip out your clear nail polish, locate the rip, and, with the rip over your hand only, paint on the polish - don't be greedy, paint it on!

  3. Step 3

Once you've fully covered the area of the rip, wait for it to dry - if you use the Insta-Dri, this should take about 30 seconds, but wait for 1 minute to be safe. If you're at a party though, you might be missing out on something good - every second counts. In this case, you can skip on the extra 30 seconds. Blow on it to make it dry faster!

  4. Step 4

You can now put on your dry pantyhose! Keep in mind that if the rip is severe, of course nail polish will not re-create the fabric, but it will stop it from ripping further, and will definitely look much better! The key is to get the rip in its initial stages.

  5. Step 5

This happens to all of us ladies at least once, so don't freak out! Just remember to keep your handy-dandy nail polish with you, and you'll be just fine!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are prone to ripping your stockings (and many of us are), then just keep an extra pair with you in your purse or car.
